More Than Just Finding Health Information

eHealth literacy is the ability to find, understand, evaluate, and use health information from digital sources. It helps people make more informed and responsible decisions when using health information online.

Find

Know where to look for relevant health information and identify digital sources that may provide useful and trustworthy information.

Understand

Understand health terms, explanations, and information presented through websites, applications, and other digital platforms.

Evaluate

Examine whether digital health information is credible, accurate, reliable, and supported by trustworthy evidence.

Understanding Digital Health Can Make a Difference

The internet provides access to an enormous amount of health information. However, not everything online is accurate or appropriate. eHealth literacy helps people approach digital health information with greater awareness and critical thinking.

01

Recognize

Recognize different types of digital health information and understand how they can be used.

02

Understand

Understand important eHealth concepts, terminology, technologies, and services.

03

Think Critically

Question information, identify possible misinformation, and consider whether a source can be trusted.

04

Use Responsibly

Use digital health information responsibly while considering privacy, safety, and the limitations of online information.

Test. Learn. Test Again.

The portal uses a pre-test and post-test approach to explore users' understanding of eHealth and determine how much their knowledge improves after reviewing the learning materials.

Measuring eHealth Understanding

This project aims to give our group not only satisfaction in spreading more knowledge on the topic, but also to gather data on how much of a population is knowledgeable, literate, and practically competent in handling these required skills. Our website will publish updates based on the results.

01

Measure Initial Knowledge

The pre-test provides an initial indication of how much users already know about eHealth.

02

Provide Learning Materials

Users are given accessible learning materials that introduce important eHealth concepts.

03

Measure Understanding

The post-test provides another measurement of the user's understanding after learning.

04

Compare the Results

Comparing pre-test and post-test results helps show whether understanding changed after using the website.
